Help customers finish email subscription confirmation

Tell customers that entering an email address starts signup and confirming from their inbox finishes it. If the message is missing, check the address, inbox folders, and the signup result before trying again.

Explain the second step at the first step

A customer can scan successfully, submit a form, and still leave without becoming a confirmed subscriber. Put ‘check your inbox to finish’ on the sign and mention it when inviting someone verbally. This is especially useful when they join while paying or leave the market immediately afterward.

When a confirmation email does not arrive, ask the customer to check the exact address they entered, including spelling and the account they opened on their phone. Then check spam or filtered folders. Staff should avoid looking through a customer's private inbox or taking over their account.

Before you send

  1. Check that the signup page shows the expected business name.
  2. Read the page's result message and verify the submitted address with the customer.
  3. Ask the customer to check inbox and filtered folders themselves.
  4. If the problem persists, record the time and business signup URL and contact support privately.

Message examples to adapt

These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.

Sign footer

Email signup has one more step: open the confirmation email from [Business] and follow its link. If it is missing, check your spam folder and the address you entered. Questions? Contact [business support].

Staff help wording

The signup starts when you submit your address and finishes from your inbox. Please check the email account you entered, including filtered folders. If it still isn't there, we can share the time and signup page with support without accessing your inbox.

Test the whole route before a campaign

Use a controlled address to test your printed sign, form, confirmation, and a real sample update. A working camera scan does not establish email delivery. Test before an event when staff have time to troubleshoot.

Do not use an import to bypass a customer's incomplete QR signup. Keep the confirmation choice with the customer. If several people report the same issue, pause a large print run until the path has been checked.

Common questions

Is a submitted address already subscribed?

For a new KeepMPosted email signup, the customer must confirm from the email before receiving updates.

Can I promise instant delivery?

Avoid that promise. Messages can be delayed or filtered, so explain the expected step and provide a support route if it fails.

Put this into practice

KeepMPosted's email signup uses inbox confirmation; make that step visible wherever you display the QR or share the link.

KeepMPosted collects subscribers through a QR signup page and sends updates by email or Telegram using prepaid credits. Customers can choose the message types you offer. You write and send each update; SMS and scheduled sending are not available.
