Announce a bakery menu change clearly

State which products change and when, then link to the current menu and order route. Keep individual order substitutions separate, and direct ingredient questions to verified product information.

Explain the change at the point of purchase

A new menu can add products, remove favorites, or change the day each bread is baked. Say which kind of change customers should expect. An appealing list of new loaves is incomplete if regulars still arrive for a product you no longer bake on that day.

Confirm ingredient information before publishing product descriptions. Do not infer dietary suitability from a bread name or a brief supplier note. Customers should be able to consult current product details or ask your team before ordering.

Before you send

  1. Confirm products added, paused, or moved to a different bake day.
  2. Give the effective date and link to the current menu.
  3. Verify ingredient descriptions through your product-information process.
  4. Handle any changes to already confirmed orders privately.

Message examples to adapt

These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.

New weekly menu

Subject: [Bakery] menu changes from [date]

From [date], our bake menu will include [new items]. [Existing product] will be available on [day] instead of [old day]. See the current menu, product details, and order windows at [link]. Confirmed existing orders are [verified status]. Ingredient questions: [contact].

Product temporarily paused

Subject: [Product] paused at [Bakery] from [date]

We are pausing [product] from [date] because of [brief reason]. Available alternatives are listed at [menu link]. We do not yet have a confirmed return date. If you already ordered the affected item, please use [contact] so we can confirm your options privately.

Update descriptions wherever people order

Change counter labels, order pages, and staff notes alongside the announcement. A correct email cannot prevent confusion if the menu still shows the old bake day or an unavailable item.

When a paused item returns, send a new dated availability notice rather than editing an old message silently. Give the current order route and avoid implying every alternative is interchangeable for dietary needs.

Common questions

Can I substitute an item through a general broadcast?

A broadcast can announce a menu change, but individual substitutions need the customer's order context and your confirmed process.

Should I list every ingredient in the announcement?

Link to complete verified product information and keep the main change readable. Include critical information according to your product-information process.
