How to add an email signup invitation to a receipt
Put a short, optional signup invitation below the purchase information. Explain the future updates, provide a link or QR code, and never imply that receiving an emailed receipt automatically joins the customer to your list.
Keep the receipt's main job intact
A receipt helps customers verify what they bought. Any invitation should sit below the total and required purchase details, where it can be noticed without hiding the record. On a narrow receipt, one useful sentence is more effective than a long list of benefits.
An email address collected to deliver a receipt is not automatically a subscription to operational or promotional updates. Let customers make that choice on a separate signup page. If your till cannot print a readable code, use a plain web address or hand over a small signup card.
Before you send
- Confirm your receipt system supports a stable text link or printable image.
- Print a real receipt and test the code before relying on thermal-paper output.
- Say which business and update topics the invitation covers.
- Keep returns, support, and receipt-access links distinct from subscription signup.
Message examples to adapt
These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.
Review what customers actually see
Check both paper and emailed receipts if your system offers them. A code visible in one output may disappear or become a poor image in the other. A clickable text link is usually the easier route when customers read the receipt on their phone.
Keep the signup destination stable through till-template changes. Tell staff how to explain the invitation in one sentence; they should not need to enter addresses or navigate the customer's phone.
Common questions
Does KeepMPosted connect to my till?
This workflow uses a signup URL or QR that you add yourself. KeepMPosted does not provide a point-of-sale receipt integration.
Can the receipt promise a personalized restock alert?
Only promise the update you provide. A general restock message type is different from tracking one customer's requested item.
Put this into practice
Use your workspace's signup URL on receipts and let customers choose their own email or Telegram subscription.
KeepMPosted collects subscribers through a QR signup page and sends updates by email or Telegram using prepaid credits. Customers can choose the message types you offer. You write and send each update; SMS and scheduled sending are not available.
