Announce a change to cafe kitchen hours
List the kitchen's new service window and last-order cutoff, then the cafe's wider opening hours. Explain which drinks, counter items, or collection services remain available after the kitchen closes.
Give customers the time for the service they want
A cafe may stay open for coffee after lunch orders end. If your notice only gives the building's closing time, customers can arrive expecting a meal you no longer serve. Put the food-service window where they will see it first.
Check whether the change is daily, limited to certain weekdays, or temporary. Mention bookings or packages affected by it through their own contact process, and keep the current menu aligned with the actual service periods.
Before you send
- Confirm food-service hours and the last-order time.
- State the days and date range the new schedule covers.
- Explain what continues outside kitchen hours.
- Update public menus, signs, and staff answers together.
Message examples to adapt
These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.
Check the customer-facing hours separately
Your public listing may show building hours while the menu shows food times. Keep both accurate and make the distinction visible on your own website. A customer should not need to ask staff to understand the difference.
If the kitchen schedule changes again, publish the new effective date. Do not silently reuse an old notice with a new cutoff; label the changed plan clearly.
Common questions
Should I say the cafe closes earlier?
Only if the cafe itself closes. Name the kitchen cutoff when drinks or other services continue.
Does this notice update online menus?
No. Update menus and public hours separately; KeepMPosted sends the subscriber announcement.
