Let customers choose which business updates they receive
Offer a few message types that describe the content customers will receive. Use plain names, keep overlapping topics limited, and explain the choices on your signs as well as the signup page.
Separate interests customers can recognize
A bakery might offer ‘Bread runs’ and ‘Shop notices.’ A farm might offer ‘Harvest availability’ and ‘Market appearances.’ Those names help customers choose. Internal labels such as ‘Campaign A’ or ‘High value’ describe your organization rather than the customer's reason to subscribe.
Do not create a topic for every product unless you can maintain the choices and consistently select the right ones when sending. Topics are useful when the information differs meaningfully. A smaller menu reduces both signup confusion and publishing mistakes.
Before you send
- List the recurring updates people ask to receive, using their words.
- Group topics that usually travel together and separate unrelated interests.
- Match each sign or social invitation to an actual signup choice.
- Send a test to selected types and inspect the matching audience before publishing.
Message examples to adapt
These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.
Respect choices when your list evolves
Adding a new type does not enroll existing KeepMPosted subscribers into it. Invite them to review their preferences. Imports begin with the default type, so do not assume an imported list is subscribed to every new topic.
When sending to several types, subscribers whose choices overlap receive one delivery per selected channel. Preview the audience instead of adding topic counts by hand. Avoid naming a type ‘Weekly’ unless you actually maintain that cadence manually.
Common questions
Are message types automatic reminders?
No. They control which subscribed interests match a message. You still write and send the update yourself.
Can customers choose several topics?
Yes. Customers can select multiple active message types. Keep their meanings clear so selecting more than one feels useful.
Put this into practice
Use KeepMPosted message types to connect each announcement to customers who chose that content.
KeepMPosted collects subscribers through a QR signup page and sends updates by email or Telegram using prepaid credits. Customers can choose the message types you offer. You write and send each update; SMS and scheduled sending are not available.
