Invite subscribers to change their update preferences
Explain the new or changed topic in plain language and invite subscribers to review their choices. Adding a message type does not enroll existing KeepMPosted subscribers into it.
Treat a new topic as a new choice
A farm adding market news should not assume harvest subscribers want it. Describe the new content and why it may help, then provide the preference route. Do not repeatedly send the new topic as a trial to people who have not selected it.
Email recipients can use the preference link in their messages to change active types or unsubscribe. Telegram customers can reopen the business signup page, choose types, and follow Start again. Keep private preference links and tokens out of public posts.
Before you send
- Confirm the active topics and their actual content scope.
- Explain the new choice without implying automatic enrollment.
- Use each channel's proper preference route.
- Check future sends against the selected audience, not the old list total.
Message examples to adapt
These are original examples. Replace bracketed details and check every promise before using them.
Do not turn preferences into hidden categories
Choose type names customers understand. Renaming a topic is not a shortcut to changing its promise. If the content changes materially, invite a new choice rather than silently using the old audience.
Preserve unsubscribed or suppressed status. A preference update should not be treated as permission to restore an inactive contact through an import or a staff workaround.
Common questions
Will every subscriber receive the new topic?
No. Existing customers must choose it; creating the type does not enroll them.
Can customers leave all updates?
Yes. Give the unsubscribe route clearly rather than framing preference changes as the only available option.
Put this into practice
Use KeepMPosted's customer-selected types and channel-specific preference routes to keep announcements aligned with current interests.
KeepMPosted collects subscribers through a QR signup page and sends updates by email or Telegram using prepaid credits. Customers can choose the message types you offer. You write and send each update; SMS and scheduled sending are not available.
